

British Cycling is the national governing body for cycling as recognised by the UCI – the international federation for the sport.
As such, British Cycling works across all levels and six disciplines of the sport (BMX, mountain bike, cyclo-cross, road, track and cycle speedway), from providing the support and encouragement people need to get riding their bikes for the first time, to being home to the hugely successful Great Britain Cycling Team.
British Cycling is responsible for the management of disciplinary cases within the sport of cycling including anti-doping, equality and rules and regulations for all the main disciplines of cycling.
British cycling are responsible for sanctioning and running all types of racing (excluding time trials) across the United Kingdom. As an affliate club, we can now race under the official banner of UEA cycling club.
Joining UEA CC enables you to access a host of membership benefits from British Cycling. For example, new members to BC qualify for a free bronze membership or discounted silver/gold membership. You can also purchase a racing licence, something that is a requirement in order to enter competitions both in the UK and abroad.
